Motorola Solutions Radio and Public Safety Technologies from BCE Systems

Motorola Solutions radio and public safety technologies, supplied and supported in Kenya
BCE Systems is accredited by Motorola Solutions for Professional and Commercial Radio and WAVE PTX. We supply, design, license and support two-way radio, broadband push-to-talk and public safety video systems, and we handle the Communications Authority frequency licensing as part of the project rather than leaving it with you.
Senaca East Africa deployed WAVE PTX with BCE Systems across its patrol operation in Kitisuru, Nairobi, replacing ageing analogue radio that could not hold coverage across the zone. The deployment is published by Motorola Solutions as a customer reference.
“We already have radios.”
Then the question is whether they still earn their maintenance. We service and extend existing fleets, and we will tell you honestly when continued repair costs more than replacement. That conversation is free.
What WAVE PTX is, in one paragraph
A subscription service rather than a radio network. It connects smartphones, PCs and two-way radios into the same talkgroup, over any carrier, so a supervisor on a phone in Nairobi and a guard on a radio at a site are in the same conversation. There are no usage-based call charges, so the cost is a fixed subscription rather than a bill that moves with how much your team talks.
It also works alongside what you already own. An existing MOTOTRBO system can be connected to WAVE PTX to extend reach beyond the coverage the radio network gives you on its own, which is usually the cheaper answer to a coverage gap than adding repeaters.
Devices, if you want one
Most users start on the phone app. Where a phone is wrong for the job there are purpose-built devices: a wearable for client-facing staff who need to look discreet, a rugged handset for field and industrial work, and an in-vehicle unit with a single push-to-talk button for drivers. BCE advises which fits, and the honest answer is often the app.
What a supervisor gets
Team locations on a map, dispatch by who is nearest, an emergency button on the device, talkgroups that add and remove people as they enter or leave an area, and remote visibility of device battery and signal. Dispatch runs in a browser, so there is nothing to install.
Two-way radio: MOTOTRBO
Digital radio portables, mobiles and repeaters for security, utilities, logistics, conservancies and industry. Coverage designed from a site survey rather than from a catalogue.
Broadband push-to-talk: WAVE PTX
Push-to-talk over cellular on dedicated handsets or on phones your teams already carry. No radio infrastructure to build, coverage wherever the mobile network reaches, and a predictable per-user cost.
Public safety video
Body worn, in-car and motorcycle video with evidence management, where the operational and evidential case justifies it.
Licensing, handled
Radio equipment in Kenya must be operated under a Communications Authority licence, kept in force by payment of the prescribed fee. We prepare and submit the application, and we tell you the recurring cost before you commit to a system size.
Discuss your requirement
Tell us about your operational objective and we will advise on the right system, not the largest one.
